Hungary Promotion Day Event Held in Erzurum
A “Hungary Promotion Day” event was held in Erzurum in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary, hosted by the Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ETSO). The event focused on Hungary’s investment opportunities, potential collaborations between the two countries, and sector-specific opportunities specific to Erzurum.
The event was attended by Mr. Péter Kövecsi-Oláh, Trade Attaché of the Embassy of Hungary, Mr. Roland Végh, Trade Attaché of the Embassy of Hungary, Mr. Murat Ertekin, Country Director of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) in Turkey, and Ms. Merve Taşcı, HEPA’s Ankara Representative.
In his speech during the event, ETSO Chairman and TOBB Board Member Saim Özakalın emphasized that they always support such collaborations, stating, “This partnership will pave the way for favorable and positive trade routes both for us and for the Turkic world.”
The meeting also provided information on the steps and projects undertaken within Hungary’s National Export Strategy. Discussions included how Hungarian companies are assisted in finding reliable local business partners, opportunities offered to Turkish companies wishing to source products from Hungary, and how the Embasy of Hungary and HEPA Türkiye support the entering process of Hungarian companies aiming to export to Turkey.
At the end of the meeting, the ETSO delegation presented the Hungarian and HEPA delegations with Oltu Stone prayer beads and a book titled “A Brief History of Erzurum’s Economy and Trade from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic” as gifts.
