Harvest Time for Hungary–Türkiye Partnerships with HEPA Türkiye’s Support
HEPA Türkiye (Hungarian Export Promotion Agency) continues to strengthen business and technology ties between the two countries through strategic partnerships, especially in agriculture and aviation.
Two new projects supported by HEPA Türkiye show the real, practical results of this collaboration. High-yield Hungarian wheat seeds are now being grown in Türkiye, while a Hungarian-made Airbus A320 flight simulator will help train pilots at the AFA Flight Academy in Istanbul.
Hungarian Seeds Successfully Adapt to Soil in Türkiye
An important milestone has been reached in the partnership between Istroseed, a well-established Hungarian seed company, and Ayan Tohumculuk, a leading brand in Türkiye known for its specialized products. Applications for registration and pre-production permits for two of Istroseed’s wheat varieties have been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye. Seed multiplication efforts are going smoothly, with production already reaching nearly 30 acres (120 decares) for each variety.
Production is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. Recent field visits by HEPA Türkiye and Istroseed representatives confirmed that the seeds have successfully adapted to Türkiye’s soil and climate. These high yields and positive results are expected to boost agricultural trade between the two nations.
Simnest Airbus A320 Simulator to Train Turkish Pilots
Another major partnership supported by HEPA Türkiye brings advanced technology transfer to the aviation sector. Hungary-based Simnest has delivered its high-tech Airbus A320 flight simulator to the AFA Flight Academy in Istanbul—marking its first sale to Türkiye. Once installation is complete, the simulator will be used actively in pilot training.
Driven by its goal to strengthen economic relations between Türkiye and Hungary, HEPA Türkiye continues to help grow trade between the two countries through these strategic initiatives.
