Within the scope of the organization carried out with the contribution of HEPA Türkiye, the “Hungary Country Day” events held in Gaziantep and Sakarya hosted new cooperation opportunities aimed at further developing economic relations between the two countries. The first event took place on 18 June at the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, within the framework of the European Enterprise Network Project and in cooperation with HEPA Türkiye. During the program, Hungary’s investment ecosystem, priority sectors, and the opportunities it offers to the Turkish business community were presented to participants.
Hungary’s Investment Opportunities Evaluated
The second stop of the “Hungary Country Day” events was Sakarya on 22 June. Hosted by the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and organized in cooperation with the Hungarian Consulate General in Istanbul and HEPA Türkiye, the program was also attended by the Consul General of Hungary in Istanbul, László Keller, who provided diplomatic support to the event.
At the Sakarya program, Hungary’s strategic position providing access to European markets, investment incentives, logistical advantages, and commercial visa processes were discussed in detail. HEPA Türkiye General Manager Mehmet Yalçın Orhon emphasized the long-term strategic importance of economic cooperation between Türkiye and Hungary, highlighting that institutional collaboration and sustainable business models play a critical role in increasing bilateral trade volume. HEPA Türkiye Country Director Emre Cihad Sönmez underlined that Hungary should be considered not only as a target market but also as a strong logistics and trade hub opening access to Europe.
Throughout the event, concrete business development opportunities were discussed through engagements with business representatives. In addition, Emre Cihad Sönmez delivered a comprehensive presentation on Hungary’s commercial structure, investment environment, and the opportunities it offers to Turkish companies.
It was further emphasized that Hungary should be viewed not only as a target market but also as a powerful logistics and trade hub opening the gateway to Europe. These two events represent an important step in spreading economic diplomacy with Hungary across Türkiye’s diverse industrial and commercial centers. The “Country Days” format, which supports the integration of regional business communities into international markets, is set to continue in the coming period with the aim of creating new investment channels and trade bridges.
The growing economic relations between Türkiye and Hungary are expected to further increase mutual investment and trade volume, establishing a more sustainable and stronger framework for cooperation.
