The Hungarian Export Promotion Agency HEPA Türkiye continues to contribute to the development of strategic partnerships between Hungary and Türkiye.

Through HEPA Türkiye’s coordination, the international connections established during the Agroexpo 2026 Agriculture and Livestock Fair have successfully transformed into concrete collaborations in the post-exhibition period. These strategic partnerships, developed between Hungarian companies operating in agricultural technologies and sustainable production solutions and their Türkiye-based counterparts, are expected to contribute to the sector’s transformation and efficiency-driven growth. As a result of intensive engagements and effective business development efforts throughout the fair, critical agreements were concluded across various sectors.

Strategic Partnership Established with DroneFiller

DroneFiller, known for its drone filling systems used across 15 countries in Europe and globally, stands out with solutions that make agricultural spraying processes faster, cleaner, and more efficient. The initial contact established during Agroexpo 2026 between DroneFiller representative Mate Kovacs and Zafer Güder, owner of Zafer Güder Aviation and Space, was successfully transformed into a concrete partnership with the support of HEPA Türkiye.

In this context, a visit was conducted on March 17 to DroneFiller’s facilities in Mezőtúr, Hungary, where technical and commercial evaluations were carried out. Following the meetings, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the parties.

ABZ Innovation Enters the Turkish Market

A distributorship agreement has been signed between ABZ Innovation, a developer of UAV-based agricultural spraying systems and autonomous drone technologies, and Türkiye-based Zafer Güder Aviation, which operates in aviation systems and UAV operations.

This collaboration, realized with the business development support of HEPA Türkiye, represents a key milestone in strengthening ABZ Innovation’s presence in the Turkish market. It is also expected to contribute to the wider adoption of high-efficiency aerial application solutions and precision agriculture technologies.

Agrofeed Expands Integrated Partnerships in Türkiye

Agrofeed, operating in the field of premixes and animal nutrition solutions, continues to expand its partnerships in Türkiye. Within this scope, agreements have been signed with Bytoprak Tarım and Pusula Veterinary Services, which specializes in animal health, herd management, and veterinary services.

These collaborations, developed with the support of HEPA Türkiye, aim to promote the adoption of integrated and efficiency-oriented solutions in Türkiye’s agriculture and livestock sectors.

Strategic Move in Smart Agriculture by WeedEye and Tekno Kurgu

WeedEye, a developer of smart agriculture technologies, stands out with its innovative solutions capable of detecting weeds in real time and applying treatment only to targeted areas, reducing herbicide usage by up to 90%.

As part of the business development process led by HEPA Türkiye, WeedEye and Tekno Kurgu took a significant step toward a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding following Agroexpo 2026. The parties will participate in a demo day to be held in June in Győr, Hungary, where they will test the field performance of WeedEye technologies. The scope and future of the collaboration will be determined based on the results obtained.

Additionally, within the framework of discussions initiated during Agroexpo, it has been indicated that two further preliminary agreements—particularly with S.S. Önder Farmer Production and Marketing Cooperative—have reached the signing stage. In this context, a large delegation from Türkiye is planned to attend the demo day in Győr.

HEPA Türkiye Continues to Act as a Bridge for International Cooperation

These tangible outcomes achieved following Agroexpo 2026 serve as a strong indicator of HEPA Türkiye’s mission to foster international partnerships and support investment and technology transfer.

HEPA Türkiye will continue to bring together international stakeholders in the fields of agriculture, technology, and sustainability, contributing to the implementation of high value-added projects in Türkiye.

The 21st AGROEXPO International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, recognized as Türkiye’s largest agricultural exhibition and one of the four largest in Europe, was held at Fuar İzmir between 03–07 February 2026. Bringing together 426 exhibitors from 112 countries and 110,715 professional visitors, the event served as a key meeting point for the global agriculture and livestock ecosystem.

Within the scope of AGROEXPO 2026, HEPA Türkiye took part under the Hungary National Pavilion with eight Hungarian companies offering innovative products and services in agricultural technologies, livestock equipment, and sustainable production solutions. Throughout the five-day exhibition, approximately 100 bilateral business meetings (B2B) were conducted, more than 10 concrete cooperation opportunities were generated, and the foundations for new long-term commercial partnerships between Türkiye and Hungary were established.

Hungarian companies attracted significant interest from both international and Turkish industry representatives, particularly with their innovative approaches in digital agriculture technologies, productivity-enhancing solutions, and sustainable livestock practices. Discussions went beyond short-term commercial contacts, comprehensively addressing technology transfer, distributorship agreements, and joint investment opportunities.

Within the framework of strategic global priorities such as food security, sustainable production, and climate-focused agricultural transformation, AGROEXPO 2026 made a substantial contribution to strengthening sector-based cooperation between Türkiye and Hungary.

The business connections established during the fair continue to be actively pursued following the event, with the aim of transforming them into tangible outcomes in the near future. HEPA Türkiye remains committed to deepening bilateral trade relations and enhancing high value-added partnerships between the two countries.

One of the most significant gathering points of Türkiye’s beekeeping sector, the 16th Türkiye Beekeeping Fair, was successfully held with strong participation on January 16–18, 2026, at the Istanbul Haliç Congress Center, under the main sponsorship of SİMECS Group. 

The fair provided a strong platform for interaction and cooperation, particularly in the fields of bee health, honey and bee product technologies, next-generation hive systems, and professional beekeeping equipment. It also hosted international visitors from countries including Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Lebanon.

Technology Enhancing Efficiency and Quality in Beekeeping

The honey heating jacket, jointly developed by Hungary-based CAADEX and its distributor in eight countries including Türkiye, SİMECS Group, was presented to industry professionals at the SİMECS stand. This innovative solution, designed to prevent efficiency and quality losses caused by the crystallization and freezing of honey, drew attention for its contribution to sustainable production, energy efficiency, and preservation of product quality.

R&D Vision in the Turkish–Hungarian Partnership 

Throughout the fair, HEPA Türkiye actively took part at the SİMECS stand, contributing to the product’s promotion and communication activities. HEPA Türkiye’s sectoral expertise and its approach focused on strengthening international collaborations made the R&D- and innovation-driven vision of the Turkish–Hungarian partnership more visible.

This participation created an important opportunity to connect innovative solutions in agriculture and food technologies with the right stakeholders and to further develop international trade relations.

HEPA Türkiye will continue to support value-creating projects in agriculture, livestock, and food technologies, and to serve as a strategic bridge between international companies and the Turkish market.

Strong Hungarian Participation at Agroexpo 2026 

HEPA Türkiye also announced that a Hungarian National Pavilion will participate in the 21st Agroexpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, to be held in İzmir on February 3–7, 2026.

A total of eight Hungarian companies will take part in the national stand, presenting high-technology solutions, innovative production approaches, and efficiency- and sustainability-focused applications for the agriculture and livestock sectors to international visitors.

With the participation of Agrofeed, Dronefiller, Humikal, Hupro, Livestocker, Myrazonit, Tolnagro, and Weedeye, the Hungarian Pavilion aims to strengthen commercial and technological cooperation between the two countries while offering industry professionals an inspiring perspective on the future of agriculture.

Strategic Cooperation in Aviation: Simnest and AFA 

As Türkiye approaches the tenth anniversary of its establishment, HEPA Türkiye takes pride in having facilitated hundreds of companies in strengthening bilateral trade, which grew from USD 2 billion in 2016 to over USD 5 billion by the end of 2025. Within this framework, Simnest, one of the companies advised by HEPA Türkiye, achieved a milestone by signing a significant partnership with AFA (Atlantic Flight Academy), a company operating in the aviation sector, focusing on high value-added products. This success serves as a strong example of Türkiye–Hungary commercial relations and demonstrates that bilateral cooperation is deepening beyond trade, extending into technology- and production-based partnerships.

Innovative Partnership in Agriculture and Food Technologies: Simecs and Caadex 

Turkish company Simecs significantly expanded its international presence by becoming the distributor of Hungary-based Caadex across a region covering eight countries, including Türkiye. What makes this partnership particularly distinctive is the development of an innovative and proprietary product jointly created by Caadex and Simecs. Designed to prevent losses in honey production, this innovative solution contributes to sustainable production in agriculture and food technologies while powerfully showcasing the R&D and innovation capacity of the Turkish–Hungarian partnership.

Targeting a Trade Volume of USD 10 Billion 

These commercial and technological achievements align closely with the macro-level goals of both countries. According to official statements released to the public in early December, discussions were held on increasing the bilateral trade volume target from the previously set USD 6 billion to USD 10 billion, taking into account the strong potential between the two nations. This vision once again confirms the strategic importance of private-sector collaborations. HEPA Türkiye will continue to support all initiatives that strengthen economic relations between Türkiye and Hungary, with a focus on innovation, high value-added production, and sustainable growth.

The “Trade and Business Cooperation Seminars with Hungary,” held in Denizli and Rize, provided the business community with comprehensive information on Hungary’s investment environment and trade opportunities. The events, hosted by regional chambers of commerce, made a significant contribution to strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.

The “Trade and Business Cooperation Seminars with Hungary,” organized by HEPA Türkiye and held in Denizli on November 21st and Rize on November 24th, served as an important step towards strengthening economic relations between Türkiye and Hungary. Through these events, hosted by the Denizli Chamber of Commerce and the Rize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, participants were provided with detailed information regarding Hungary’s investment environment, trade opportunities, and potential areas of cooperation.

At the event in Denizli, Hasan Aracı, Vice President of the Denizli Chamber of Commerce, shared information about the manufacturing power and export potential of the Denizli business community. Yalçın Orhon, General Manager of HEPA Türkiye, and Emre Cihad Sönmez, HEPA Türkiye Country Manager, along with their delegation, conveyed Hungary’s sectoral priorities and the cooperation opportunities it offers to Turkish companies. Miklos Bujaky, Trade Attaché of the Consulate General of Hungary in Istanbul, shared insights into Hungary’s investment incentives and the advantages of accessing the European market.

The seminar in Rize was also organized by HEPA Türkiye and hosted by the Rize Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At the seminar, attended by RTSO President Şaban Aziz Karamehmetoğlu, Assembly Speaker Ahmet Arif Mete, Máté Szabados, Trade Attaché of the Hungarian Embassy in Ankara, and Emre Cihad Sönmez, HEPA Türkiye Country Manager, Mr. Sönmez provided information on Hungary’s ecosystem, industrial infrastructure, market entry strategies for the Hungarian market, and concrete commercial opportunities based on cooperation models specifically developed for firms from both countries. Attaché Szabados, in turn, gave a presentation sharing data on the investment opportunities in both countries.

These two events, held under the coordination of HEPA Türkiye and hosted by the chambers of commerce, brought regional dynamism to Türkiye-Hungary economic relations. Participants had the opportunity to directly learn about Hungary’s trade and investment potential. The seminars represent a strategic step that paves the way for joint projects, new investments, and an increased foreign trade volume between the two countries.

Through the organization of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) Türkiye, the “Traditional Turkish Day” event was held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The event, which attracted strong interest from Hungarian companies, created new opportunities for business cooperation aimed at strengthening bilateral trade relations. Organized by HEPA Türkiye, the annual “Turkish Day” event once again hosted an important platform in Budapest for enhancing economic and trade relations between Türkiye and Hungary. As part of the program, Mr. Miklós Bujáky, Hungary’s Commercial Attaché in Istanbul, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the current outlook of the Turkish economy, sectoral opportunities, and potential partnerships for Hungarian companies. The event continued with a panel discussion titled “Doing Business in Türkiye”, moderated by Mr. Emre Cihad Sönmez, Country Director of HEPA Türkiye, where executives of Hungarian companies already operating in Türkiye shared their experiences.

Trade Volume Reaches USD 4.91 Billion with 6% Growth

Between 2012 and 2024, Hungary’s exports to Türkiye nearly doubled, while total bilateral trade grew by more than 210%. In 2024, the trade volume between the two countries increased by 6% compared to the previous year, reaching a record USD 4.91 billion.
These events play a crucial role in turning strategic goals into tangible business outcomes. They provide a platform for direct interaction, practical learning, and the establishment of long-term partnerships that can shape future success.

The program concluded with one-on-one meetings between participants and the HEPA Türkiye team. HEPA representatives emphasized that this year’s well-attended event once again strengthened Hungarian business interest in Türkiye and aimed to further deepen the economic partnership between the two countries.

Hungary and Türkiye have maintained strong cultural and political ties throughout history. In recent years, however, these ties have been increasingly complemented by robust economic cooperation. At the heart of this partnership lies the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency’s Türkiye office, HEPA Türkiye. Acting as a bridge between Hungarian exporters and the Turkish business community, HEPA Türkiye aims to combine the potential of both countries to advance trade and technological cooperation.

We spoke with Yalçın Orhon, General Manager of HEPA Türkiye, about this process and their future plans.

When asked about HEPA Türkiye’s founding purpose, Orhon clearly summarizes the institution’s vision:

Automotive Supply Industry: “Hungarian manufacturers have strong competitiveness in electric vehicle components and spare parts. This can add real value to Türkiye’s production capacity.”

Green Energy: “Solar panel equipment, energy storage systems, and smart grid solutions align perfectly with Türkiye’s energy transition goals.”

Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Products: “Hungary’s pharmaceutical sector is innovative and meets high standards. We can be a strategic supplier for Türkiye’s expanding healthcare investments.”

“A new route to Europe for Turkish companies”

For Hungarian exporters, Türkiye is not only a market but also a strategic trade route to the European Union.

“Türkiye is an important trade partner for us. At the same time, Turkish companies gain easier access to the European market through Hungary. This is not only about product exports; it also includes joint investments, technology transfer, and R&D collaborations.”

“From B2B to trade fairs, we will continue to be the bridge”

Looking ahead, HEPA Türkiye plans a series of events to further deepen these partnerships. The Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) Türkiye supports collaborations that strengthen trade and investment relations between the two nations. Within the scope of these joint efforts, projects are being launched in various sectors including agriculture, artificial intelligence, and cosmetics.

Among the key initiatives highlighted under the 2025 designation as the “Year of Innovation and Science” are the development of drone and AI-based agricultural technologies, the launch of sustainable seed projects, and the implementation of EU-backed technology-sharing programs.

With bilateral trade volume between Türkiye and Hungary reaching $4.5 billion in 2024, it is expected to rise to $6 billion during the Year of Innovation.

One of the leading networking events in the cosmetics industry, the Beauty Eurasia Fair once again became the stage for significant collaborations this year. With the support of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA Türkiye), Hungarian cosmetics brands participating in the fair met with major players in the sector. Within this scope, the well-established Hungarian cosmetics brand Caola Zrt, with a legacy spanning 194 years, took a major step towards entering the Turkish market by signing a cooperation agreement with Turkish company Miya Dış Ticaret.

Participating under the “Hungary National Pavilion” organized by HEPA Türkiye at the BeautyEurasia Fair held at the Istanbul Expo Center, Hungarian companies held over 100 B2B meetings with visitors not only from Turkey but also from countries including the UAE, Dubai, Tunisia, Morocco, Pakistan, and Jordan. As a result of these meetings, the first cooperation process between Caola Zrt and Miya Dış Ticaret has commenced.

Initial Agreement Signed with Hungarian Brand Caola Zrt

In order to evaluate the growth potential of the Turkish market, Hungary’s historic cosmetics brand Caola Zrt signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Miya Dış Ticaret Ltd., which operates in the fields of international trade and distribution. According to the agreement, Caola’s position and growth opportunities in the Turkish market will be assessed based on market analysis conducted by Miya Dış Ticaret. If the process progresses positively, the next step will be to enter into distribution negotiations.

HEPA Türkiye General Manager Yalçın Orhon made the following statement regarding the collaborations:

“At the Beauty Eurasia Fair, where we participated alongside Hungarian companies, we received significant attention from young visitors. The Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, HEPA Türkiye, took part in the “BeautyEurasia 2025” fair with the Hungarian National Pavilion. At the fair, leading Hungarian companies such as Nailbaby, Caola, and ParisLeaf attracted great interest from visitors with their innovative products. 

BeautyEurasia 2025, one of the largest trade gatherings for the cosmetics, beauty, and personal care sectors in the region, was held on June 18–20 at the Istanbul Expo Center. Supported by HEPA Türkiye, the Hungarian National Pavilion drew considerable attention from visitors.

Hungarian brands, which welcomed visitors from various countries including Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Tunisia, Morocco, Pakistan, and Jordan, conducted over 100 B2B meetings. During the ongoing negotiations, approximately 20 cooperation opportunities were created.

At BeautyEurasia 2025, 26% of visitors were international this year, and there was a 40% increase in visitors compared to last year. The event hosted 302 exhibiting companies and 547 brands from 23 countries and brought together a total of 13,314 visitors from 114 countries in Istanbul.

The HEPA Türkiye team continues to monitor these cooperation opportunities and provides ongoing support to all companies.
