Revolution in Agriculture! The Era of Efficiency with Artificial Intelligence Begins
A new era of artificial intelligence in agriculture through Türkiye–Hungary cooperation! Drones and smart systems are being deployed to ensure food security and sustainability.
The agricultural sector is being reshaped by the power of artificial intelligence and innovation! The strategic partnership between Türkiye and Hungary is taking groundbreaking steps to increase productivity and ensure sustainability in agricultural production. With drone technologies, smart irrigation systems, and AI-powered solutions, farmers will be able to produce more with fewer resources. This cooperation will not only strengthen commercial ties between the two countries but also make significant contributions to regional and global food security. Get ready — a new age in agriculture is beginning!
The Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) Türkiye supports collaborations that strengthen trade and investment relations between the two nations. Within the scope of these joint efforts, projects are being launched in various sectors including agriculture, artificial intelligence, and cosmetics.
Among the key initiatives highlighted under the 2025 designation as the “Year of Innovation and Science” are the development of drone and AI-based agricultural technologies, the launch of sustainable seed projects, and the implementation of EU-backed technology-sharing programs.
With bilateral trade volume between Türkiye and Hungary reaching $4.5 billion in 2024, it is expected to rise to $6 billion during the Year of Innovation.
Artificial intelligence–supported applications in agriculture, smart irrigation systems, and UAV-based production monitoring technologies not only contribute to food security and sustainability goals, but also create a new innovation platform for Turkish and Hungarian entrepreneurs seeking to expand into European and Asian markets. The HEPA Turkey team continues to play an important role in building new bridges within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, going beyond trade fairs to bring Turkish business circles together with Hungarian technology companies through meetings held in cities such as Mersin, Bursa, and Eskişehir.
Commenting on the subject, HEPA Turkey Country Director Emre Cihad Sönmez stated:
“Turkey and Hungary’s declaration of 2025 as the Year of Innovation and Science is the most concrete expression of their determination to shape the future. At HEPA Turkey, we are not merely accompanying this process; we are taking on the responsibility of opening the way for new projects and accelerating companies and institutions. We believe that the steps we take will not only increase the trade volume between the two countries but also generate lasting effects on a regional and global scale.”
The cooperation between Turkey and Hungary is accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence applications in the agricultural sector, playing a significant role in achieving food security and sustainability targets. With the proclamation of 2025 as the “Year of Innovation and Science,” plans include the development of UAV- and AI-based agricultural solutions, the initiation of sustainable seed projects, and the launch of EU-supported technology sharing programs. Thanks to HEPA Turkey’s contributions, Turkish and Hungarian entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to expand into European and Asian markets. Meanwhile, the trade volume, which stood at 4.5 billion dollars in 2024, is expected to reach 6 billion dollars with the momentum of the Innovation Year.
